There is much to be THANKFUL for! Today the students learned about the American holiday called "Thanksgiving Day." We read a story about the Pilgrims and Native Americans (Indians) and why we celebrate Thanksgiving. The students also named many things that we thank the Lord for.
Here are some updates about our class and all that we are thankful for!
1. We welcomed a new student, Preston, to our class.
2. Zimri won medal for finishing 1st at Walkathon for Kindergarten.
3. Shiki won a gift coupon for having the top 3 highest donations.
4. Our class won 2nd place in the door decorating contest.
5. Our class also won a Pizza Party for being the one of the Top 3 classes in the entire school to contribute the highest average of donations for Walkathon.
6. Today was Pie Day! Thank you to families of Timothy, Shiki, Shuma, Kohaku, & Teresa for donating and sharing a pie and snacks with the class today. I was really surprised at how much pie these children can eat!
7. I showed Mrs. Bezner the students' writing samples and she was very impressed and we both noticed how much the students have improved. They are growing in confidence and it is really encouraging!
8. We have a new Kindergarten playground with lots of fun equipment for the children to play with. Please check out the photos on the home page if you haven't seen it yet.
9. We do not have school Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday. The students were excited to share about the plans they have made: Family visiting, Disneyland, sleepovers, and playtime! As for me, I will be attending an Association of Christian Schools International Conference in Korea. I will enjoy my work vacation!
10. Christmas Program is next week Friday! Students have been singing and practicing! School will end early that day at 12:10. Students will need to be at Yomitan Hall (located next to Yomitan Town Office above the school) by 6:30pm, dressed up and ready to sing! The Christmas Program is free and open to anyone! Bring your family and your camera! Show starts at 7:00pm.
Have a wonderful and blessed weekend,
Mrs. Gosin
